My Hero Academia ( 僕のヒーローアカデミア, Boku no Hīrō Akademia) is a Japanese superhero manga series written and illustrated by Kōhei Horikoshi.
In a world where currently most of the human population possess superpowers, labeled as "Quirks" (個性, Kosei) following the transitional period, Izuku Midoriya dreamt of becoming a Hero despite being bullied by his violent childhood friend Katsuki Bakugo for lacking a Quirk. Both youths idolize one of the world's greatest heroes All Might, who they both met with Izuku being one of few to know of an critical injury All Might has been concealing from the public eye to maintain morale. All Might also reveals the nature of his Quirk "One For All" and passes it down to Izuku to succeed him after seeing the youth's determination in the face of danger. As Izuku begins his path to becoming a hero in attending U.A. High School (雄英高校, Yūei Kōkō) alongside Bakugo and the friends they make in Class 1-A, a nemesis to the "One For All" users named All For One conditions his apprentice Tomura Shigaraki to destroy the current society and its heroes.
Yu Takeyama (岳山 優, Takeyama Yū) / Mt. Lady (Mt.レディ, Maunto Redi)
Yu Takeyama is a Pro Hero, and the only female member of The Lurkers, whose Quirk Gigantification (巨大化, Kyodai-ka) allows her to grow to a gigantic height.[citation needed] Mt. Lady was originally conceived by Horikoshi to be the female lead, but was replaced by Ochaco due to his not knowing how to utilize her Quirk in the story. Her original design was created from Ochaco's prototype concept, and also would end up being given to Class 1-B's student Yui Kodai. In the 10th manga volume, she starts her own Hero Agency at a young age, and despite her high number of successes, she causes unintentional destruction to the city by her Quirk. While she works hard to earn money for reparations, she ends up causing destruction again and this cycle repeats itself. Her hard work is also what brought her to the Hideout Raid Team. During Minoru Mineta's internship, she appears to be very lazy because she forces him to work instead of teaching him. Compared to other Pro Heroes, she is much more flamboyant and immature, relishing the media attention that comes with her heroic deeds, although willing to take her work seriously when needed.
